i know this may sound funny but how should you ask to dance?
i have a friend of mind that doesn’t dance with you and won’t ask you (a bit shy) she says that she’s not use to asking people to dance she’s just use to people dancing (ie clubs) so how do i ask her to dance with me as in the old style of dance as a pear she sort of know how to dance like that (salsa or a bit of a jive style) but she mostly dances in a group any thoughts on this for real because i was going to learn how to dance like that for here birthday but it is useless if i can get her to dance with me!
her has already been dacing salsa for about 2yrs but didn’t sign up this year

If you wanna ask her to dance – just go up to her, offer your hand and say “would you like to dance?”
Simple as that
If she dances salsa/jive then she’ll be up for it and off you go.
If she DOESN’T dance salsa/jive/etc you might have to approach her on the dance floor – dance a little with her – then take her hand and twirl her.
She’ll like a twirl but be ready for anything. Girls who don’t dance salsa/jive can do funny things like they might want to twirl you back. Go with it. Be sensitive to what she wants to do and if it works out wrong have a laugh!
Still – if you have a good firm (not too bossy, not throwing her around the floor, but strong enough for her to follow) lead you can probably get her to do twirls here and there. Don’t do anything REAL complex. Just do an under-arm turn or two, an enchufla or something like that. Mix it up a little.
I’ve danced with a friend of mine from a gym – she’s never done salsa before. When I first tried to dance salsa with her she’d try to turn me under her arm and all sorts, but after about 4 months (yes MONTHS – she’s a stubborn type) she now seems happier to go through a little routine of twirls and a cross body lead we’re both happy with.
