Anybody have a good recipe for a spicy CHIP DIP?
Like salsa, less chunky, nice and spicy. No guacamole, please. Something I can make easily, something TASTY! Like the kind you’d find at a small restraunt in downtown mexico, like Chevy’s chip dip, something GOOD. 10 points to the best recipe!
If you are going to eat chips and dip might as well get some protein with it!
SAUSAGE DIP
1 lb. bulk pork sausage (spicy is best)
1 med. onion, peeled and finely chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced
1 1/2 tbsp. all purpose flour
1 c. dairy sour cream
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. paprika
Corn chips, for dipping
In a 12 inch skillet, cook sausage until well browned, crumbling it with a fork. Remove sausage with a slotted spoon to paper towels to drain.
Add onions and mushrooms to the fat in the skillet; cook rapidly (so mushrooms will not give off their liquid), stirring often, until onion is golden brown. Drain off fat. Return sausage to skillet.
In a small bowl, gradually whisk flour into sour cream to make a smooth mixture. Whisk in milk, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and paprika; add to sausage mixture and mix well. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Do not boil. Serve hot in a chafing dish, with corn chips as dippers.
Chip Dip
Ingredients
1 can shrimp, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup chili sauce
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 teaspoons horseradish
Blend chili sauce into cream cheese. Mix in rest of ingredients. Add shrimp carefully. Chill until ready to serve.
Mexican, Chip, Dip, Ole
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 lg. onion, chopped
15 oz. can tomato sauce
4 oz. can green chilies, chopped
3 oz. can jalapeño peppers, chopped
1 lb. Velveeta Light cheese, cubed
Brown beef and onion; drain. Add
tomato sauce, chilies, jalapeño
peppers and cheese, Pour into crock
pot. Serve warm with tortilla chips.
Makes 32 servings

Looking for a recipe for a certain dip?
A number of years ago I tasted a dip that had salsa, shredded cheese and I think olives and lettuce, but don’t recall what else was in it. I know each ingredient was placed on top of the other, and the cheese was not melted.
Can anybody help me out?

You can put anything on the layers that you want. If you don’t like onions, don’t put them in. Or use sliced green olives instead. If you don’t like guacamole, leave it out or you can use shredded pepper jack cheese.
The best cooks are able to use their imaginations to create the foods that they like.
