does anyone have a good habanero salsa recipe?
i was on vacation in Cabo last year and stopped by Cabo Wabo restaurant and cantina. while waiting for my food the waiter brought over some chips and salsa to go along with our beer. the waiter said the salsa was habanero salsa. this was one of the best salsas i’ve ever had and ever since then i’ve been looking for something similar. i’ve tried a few online recipes but none have come close. if your familiar with the cabo wabo salsa or have a similar recipe please share. thanks.
Mango Habanero Salsa
Ingredients
2 cups cubed peeled mango
¾ cup chopped onion
¼ cup white vinegar
¼ cup water
¼ cup fresh lime juice
1 Tbl Olive Oil
¼ tsp. Salt, Kosher
3 Yellow tomatoes, chopped
½ to 3 Habanero chilies, seeded
Directions
Place all of the ingredients in a food processor, or blender. Process until almost smooth.
Cover and chill for 2 hours. The flavors of this salsa will ripen with tremendous benefit from an overnight wait to allow the flavors to blend.
Note: You can use red tomatoes in place of yellow.
Makes about 4 cups.
Pineapple Habanero Salsa
1/2 pineapple, peeled (reserving rind), cored, and coarsely chopped (2 cups)
2 tablespoons fresh pineapple juice, squeezed from reserved rind with your hands
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon mild molasses
3 scallions, finely chopped
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon minced seeded habanero or Scotch bonnet chile
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
Toss all ingredients together in a bowl and let stand, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes, to blend flavors.
How to make Authentic Yucatan Habanero Salsa
Grill the Habaneros and the garlic (with leafs on) until the garlic is soft and the haberneros have a burnt exterior.
Remove the stems and seeds from the chiles and the leaves of the garlic.
Combine habanero and garlic with vinegar in a blender. Liquify adding vinegar as necessary. You are trying to make a thick salsa. DO NOT TASTE.
Add a few pinches of salt and stir. Keep refrigerated and keep in mind that habaneros are hot hot hot. Always wash your hands VERY well when you are down when handling these chiles.
This salsa is meant to be consumed a drop at a time on tacos, fajitas or anything else.
Citrus Habanero Salsa Recipe
Ingredients
1/2-1 habanero chili, depending on tolerance
1/2 small red onion
2-3 mini sweet peppers (I used orange and yellow for color)
1.5 c grape tomatoes
1/2 can mandarin oranges, drained
Handful of cilantro
Juice of one lime
Salt to taste
Directions
Pulse chili, onion, and sweet peppers a few times in food processor.
Add tomatoes. Pulse 1-2 times.
Add cilantro and oranges. Pulse until salsa reaches desired consistency.
Transfer to serving bowl and stir in the juice of one lime. Salt to taste.
Refrigerate in non-reactive airtight container for up to three days….as if it will last that long!

When it comes to dealing with diabetes, you need to understand that diet plays an important role. Most people simply like to eat out and indulging restaurant food occasionally. a) Maintain control of your portion sizes:
Most restaurants tend to use large portions. However, the diabetic diet plan is based on a moderate portion size. In this case, the restaurant offers dishes you have chosen in many dimensions, make sure you choose the smallest portion. You can also get a little creative.

You can also go for several healthy additions such as salsa, fat free mayonnaise, fat-free salad dressing or barbecue sauce. Try to enjoy up to three small portion of food. That way, you do not need to adjust your meal plan.
c) Have a chat with the chef:
This will help you a lot in most nutritious food that is necessary for a diabetic. Ask the boss if he can provide you with some low-cholesterol egg, chicken skin or whole grain bread.
The pizza you order should have a thin crust and is composed of a lot of vegetables. All you need to do is choose a health plan to stay committed to your diabetes meal plan.
d) Keep tabs on what you drink:
If you are having a big glass of soda, then you will certainly overload your body with about hundreds of calories. Do not opt for shakes and ice cream, since it has a lot of calories and saturated fats.
Order for a diet soda is the right choice. You can even go for sugar free iced tea, mineral water or sparkling water. If your diabetes is under control, an occasional alcoholic drink is perfectly fine.
However, if your level of blood sugar is high, the alcohol will add empty calories to your meal. Can even aggravate complications such as eye disease or nerve damage. If you must drink alcohol, beer and dry wines, light consists of a number of calories compared to other alcoholic beverages. Sugar free mixed drinks are great options, as Seltzer, club soda, diet soda or diet tonic.
