Why is it when you go to the grocery store, it says things like, for example, “Salad dressing: 10/$10.00? Why not just say it’s a dollar? Because they prorate it anyway, so it does actually end up being a dollar.

well i work at a grocery store, and they do this because some people see the sign 2/$3.00 and automatically pick up 2, when if the sign said $1.50 (same price btw) they would only pick up one cause in reality it is all they needed. Advertising like this basically increases their sales.
