What are some good salmon recipes for someone who does not like the taste of “salmon”?
I want to prepare a cooked salmon dish for a friend but can’t come up with a really good one. I have tried just grilling it with a bit of seasoning, but still does not like the “fishy” taste. I tried baking it with some mayo and lemon but can’t seem to win my friend over into liking salmon. My friend loves a number of different types of fish, but for some reason, salmon is not one of ‘em (and this fish is the very one that has Omega 3′s!!!) Personally, I love salmon but I was wondering if you know of a good recipe we could try salmon…perhaps with a citrus salsa? What do you think?
Cedar Planked Salmon
Ingredients
3 (12 inch) untreated cedar planks
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger root
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 (2 pound) salmon fillets, skin removed
Directions
1.Soak the cedar planks for at least 1 hour in warm water. Soak longer if you have time.
2.In a shallow dish, stir together the vegetable oil, rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, green onions, ginger, and garlic. Place the salmon fillets in the marinade and turn to coat. Cover and marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to one hour.
3.Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat. Place the planks on the grate. The boards are ready when they start to smoke and crackle just a little.
4.Place the salmon fillets onto the planks and discard the marinade. Cover, and grill for about 20 minutes. Fish is done when you can flake it with a fork. It will continue to cook after you remove it from the grill.
Smoked Salmon Sushi Roll
Ingredients
2 cups Japanese sushi rice
6 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
6 sheets nori (dry seaweed)
1 avocado – peeled, pitted and sliced
1 cucumber, peeled and sliced
8 ounces smoked salmon, cut into long strips
2 tablespoons wasabi paste
Directions
1.Soak rice for 4 hours. Drain rice and cook in a rice cooker with 2 cups of water. Rice must be slightly dry as vinegar will be added later.
2.Immediately after rice is cooked, mix in 6 tablespoons rice vinegar to the hot rice. Spread rice on a plate until completely cool.
3.Place 1 sheet of seaweed on bamboo mat, press a thin layer of cool rice on the seaweed. Leave at least 1/2 inch top and bottom edge of the seaweed uncovered. This is for easier sealing later. Dot some wasabi on the rice. Arrange cucumber, avocado and smoked salmon to the rice. Position them about 1 inch away from the bottom edge of the seaweed.
4.Slightly wet the top edge of the seaweed. Roll from bottom to the top edge with the help of the bamboo mat tightly. Cut roll into 8 equal pieces and serve. Repeat for other rolls.
Summer Salad with Cumin-Crusted Salmon ( my favorite )
Ingredients
Salad:
2 ounces pine nuts
5 cups mixed greens
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup scallions, sliced
1 large orange, cut in 1-inch chunks
1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
1 cup cilantro, chopped
Dressing:
2 tablespoons orange juice concentrate
4 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1/4 teaspoon salt
Cumin-Crusted Salmon:
1 1/2 tablespoons cumin
2 teaspoons paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 pound salmon fillet, skin removed
Directions
1.Heat a non-stick skillet, add pine nuts and stir until toasty, about 5 minutes. In a large bowl, place all salad ingredients (reserve half of the cilantro and half of the pine nuts for garnish).
2.In a separate bowl, stir dressing ingredients together.
3.In a bowl, combine cumin, paprika, salt and pepper. Cut salmon in 8 strips and coat with spices. Grill (or sear in a non-stick skillet brushed with canola oil) until crusty.
4.Toss salad and dressing; divide on plates. Top with salmon and reserved cilantro and pine nuts.
These barely taste like salmon

Macadamia Salsa with Salmon Combo!
Ingredients:
2 Tuna fillets
(Macadamia salsa mixture)
Extra virgin olive oil
2 Tablespoon coriander
2 Tablespoons coriander
3 Tablespoons parsley
1 Avocado, well diced
½ Cup sliced tomatoes
¼ Cup Macadamias, halved
Directions:
Firstly, you should preheat the grill to medium
Throw the fillets on the grill and cook them for about 3 to 5 minutes or until desired doneness.
Put all the salsa mixture ingredients in a bowl. Mix them well.
Put the salsa and fillets on a plate and enjoy this highly delectable meal.

Is this a good diet plan?
Before Breakfast; i go for a 2 mile jog (1 mile then 1 mile back)
Breakfast ; Scrambeled eggs mixed with mushroom and onions along with a Whole Grain toasted bread
Midmoring snack ; Strawberries and Peaches
Lunch ; Green Salad with Olive Oil Dressing & a iced green tea drink
Afternoon Snack ; Pears cut into 2 wedges dipped in peanut butter
Dinner ; Whole grain tortilla with skinless chicken, corn and spicy salsa OR salmon
Since i dont go to the gym, i do most of my exercises at home. I do 50 lunges on each leg, 25 sit ups per 30 minutes for 2 hours.
My point; im trying to lost at least 3 lbs by christmas. Is this a good diet plan?
anything i need to add? anything i should not eat?
i also try to sneak in a little midnight snack once a week; Baked Whole Grain Wheat Cracker
It all seems pretty good, a nice balance of whole grains, fruit and vegetables and meat/fish. – A nice healthy way to lose weight rather than starving yourself. Just some suggestions, try to have scrambled egg WHITES for breakfast, as you are still getting the protein but less of the fat as that is contained in the yolk. You’ll still get flavor from the mushrooms and onions which takes away the blandness of the egg whites. If you want to mix it up, add some paprika because that is also pretty nice. Snack & Lunch are good, as long as you arent too generous with the olive oil – you can also look for the low fat stuff. Again, low fat peanut butter should be used for the afternoon snack. Dinner sounds really nice, and I may just steal that
