I love salsa and I could eat it everyday for the rest of my life. The ones available here are tostitos and La Picante. I know there are better salsas out there. Do you have any recipes that are similar or are even better?
Fresh Salsa & Variations
1½ cups diced Roma or plum tomato, about 2
1/3 cup diced red onion
1/3 cup diced red bell pepper
1/3 cup diced green bell pepper
1 – 2 peeled garlic cloves, minced
1/4 -1/2 tsp ground cumin, to taste
1/2 tsp kosher salt, or to taste
2 Tbsp minced fresh cilantro, or to taste; optional
Stir all together. Add the salt and cumin to taste. Yield: 2½ cups
Black Bean and Fresh Corn Salsa.
Using the original salsa recipe above, substitute 1/2 cup cooked or canned black beans (rinse well) and 1/2 cup uncooked fresh corn kernels for 1 cup of the diced tomatoes.
Grilled Pineapple Salsa:
1½ cups grilled pineapple, diced
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp lime juice
½ cup diced red bell pepper
½ cup diced red onion
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
1 – 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
2 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro, plus extra for garnish
¼ teaspoon salt

Simple Summer Salsa
1 cup diced peeled peaches
1 cup diced ripe tomato
3 Tbsp. chopped green onions
1/2 tsp lime zest
2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
2 Tbsp. lemon olive oil or olive oil infused with lemon peel
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Refrigerate until serving time. Serve with corn or pita chips, or over grilled fish, chicken, or pork.

Proscuitto & Melon Slasa
¼ cup finely chopped cantaloupe (1 cup chunks)
¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
¼ cup red bellpepper, finely chopped
Juice of ¼ lemon
1 tsp. (or a splash) of aged balsamic vinegar
2 tsp. EVOO
Pinch kosher salt
Dash black pepper
¼ lb (9 thin slices) proscuitto, chopped
Combine all ingredients. Top 36 Big Wheat Thins crackers to make 18 appetizer servings (2 each).

Blueberry Salsa
This fruity salsa is a refreshing side to grilled pork, chicken, and fish.
2 cups chopped fresh blueberries
1 cup whole fresh blueberries
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
3 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
2 seeded and minced jalapeño peppers
1/3 cup diced red bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp kosher salt
Coarsely chop 2 cups fresh blueberries. Stir together chopped fresh blueberries, 1 cup whole blueberries, 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, 2 seeded and minced jalapeño peppers, 1/3 cup diced red bell pepper, 1/4 cup chopped onion, and 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt in a large bowl. Cover and chill until ready to serve.
Yield: Makes about 3 cups

There is More Than One Way to Prepare the Perfect Swiss Steak
There is more than one way to prepare a Swiss steak.
More than likely your recipe will call for either round or chuck steak, but you can also use cube steak.
The type of steak you use is entirely up to your palate. Swiss steak can also be either baked in the oven, cooked in a slow cooker or Crockpot, or even cooked in a large skillet on top of the stove.
You will not find many recipes that tell you how you to cook Swiss steak on top of the stove, but it can be done.
If you decide to try to prepare one on your stove top use any of the recipes that you find, just cook on the stove top and check often.
These Swiss steak recipes call for them to be baked in the oven, but you can also prepare them in the above mentioned ways.
For the first recipe you will need the following ingredients:
a covered baking dish,
2 pounds of steak,
salt, pepper,
garlic powder,
1 onion sliced,
4 ounce can of drained mushrooms, and
1 15 ounce can of tomato sauce.
The first step is to cut your steak into serving sizes, season the steaks with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Place the steak into a baking dish top with the onion slice.
Now, pour the mushrooms and tomato sauce on top. Kind of level the ingredients and bake covered for 1 ½ hours at 350 degrees. This recipe can also be prepared on top of the stove just as easy. Just remember to check on it and be sure that the liquid is not evaporating.
You can always add just a bit more tomato sauce or even a small amount of water if needed.
If you like your Swiss Steak a bit spicier, try this one. You will need:
round or chuck steak, (tenderize the steak first),
15 ounce can of tomato sauce,
1 large onion sliced,
2 tablespoons of vinegar, and
8 ounces of your favorite picante sauce or salsa.
Place the steak in the baking dish, add the onion on top and then pour in the remainder of the ingredients. Bake at 250 degrees for around 20 minutes.
